Alternative and/or Conventional food systems… Talk at University of Innsbruck

At the University of Innsbruck, Prof. Markus Scheremer and his colleagues organise series of International Agri-Food Lectures. I got lucky enough to be invited to give a talk on alternative food networks. To make things a bit more challenging, I decided rather to develop a critic of the binary opposing alternative to conventional. I argued that rather than focusing on oppositions and fixed categories, we should look at the multiplicity of actors, motivators, logics and strategies that intertwines within agri-food networks. This re-assembling work is necessary to get a grasp on how change and transformations actually happen in food systems.diapositive1
